My class walked down to the fire station for a field trip. We met a few firemen and toured that station. We saw where they eat and sleep. All of the children were able to sit in the drivers seat of the huge fire truck. I was a bit nervous about that...i did it, but VERY quickly. We also watched a couple fire fighters slide down the pole- that was cool! This station has a few of the very old trucks too, so we all played in those and got a group picture taken in the back. We also got to shoot the fire hose- very fun trip.
